Boiler Drum Level Indication Boiler Drum Level Indication
Damage to the steam drum, the boiler, and the turbine can result from inaccurate drum level control.

Damage to the steam drum, the boiler, and the turbine can result from inaccurate drum level control.

If the drum level falls below set-point, there is a risk of the boiler running dry. If the level is higher than set-point, there is a risk that wet steam could carry over to the turbine, causing damage to the turbine blades.

Challenges with continual boiler water level measurement include the high pressure and temperatures of the process.

Emerson has multiple solutions and technologies for the measurement of boiler drum level.  The breadth of these solutions includes direct reading products along with electronic/conductivity solutions.  Emerson has a solution to meet any pressure (including vacuum) and temperature application.

Meet redundant level measurement requirements
Protect equipment from damage
Ensure accurate drum level control
