Essential Function:
The Lifecycle Service Engineer’s primary responsibility is to assist customers with Installing and maintaining their Distributed Control System (DCS), scoping out and implementing hardware and software upgrades, and providing all relevant documentation. This position requires a wide range of skills including, but not limited to, the ability to work independently, work on a team, manage outside customers relationships with a high level of attention to detail, and have the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Candidates will have knowledge of or an aptitude for Windows Operating System Installation and configuration, Networking and Cyber-security.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support, consultation and on-site/remote diagnostics for Emerson Automation Solutions products/systems, including DeltaV DCS, DeltaV SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems), AMS Device Manager, Wireless Solution and PlantWeb installations. This involves troubleshooting, problem analysis and solutions generation to infrastructure-related issues/inquiries.
Maintain ownership of received customer problems by documenting and communication issues to manager and teams.
Provides timely updates and escalates issues appropriately.
Identify workarounds, reduce product problem resolution time, and support efforts to develop training and troubleshooting resources (e.g. procedures, diagnostics, and documentation)
Continue educational development with new technologies and service offerings

Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Intermediate experience in Virtualization Technology (Hyper-V or VMware), network communication, TCP/IP, Patch Management Applications (WSUS, Symantec, McAfee)
Proficient in Windows operating systems.
Knowledgeable in SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming language appreciated, but not required
Ability to troubleshoot systems and to communicate clear and concise information to the team, internal customers, and external customers
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
Persistence in achieving desired results
High level of analytical and critical thinking skill to solve problems and the ability to propose solutions when issues arise
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Special Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent day trips and some overnight trips required (in state, locally out-of-state). On-call once a month with additional compensation.
Education and Qualifications:BS/MS in Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or other Engineering or IT-related Degrees
