Job Description

The Inside Sales Application Engineer – Isolation Valves provides critical commercial and technical support to the isolation valve business. This role partners closely with outside sales, distributors, and customers to develop quotations, manage opportunities, and ensure timely, accurate order execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and comfortable working in an industrial business to business environment supporting engineered valve solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Support

  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for isolation valve products, including manual and automated valve packages.
  • Support outside sales representatives with pricing, lead times, configuration guidance, and order strategy.
  • Manage incoming customer and distributor inquiries via phone and email.
 

Technical & Product Support

  • Support selection and application of isolation valves.
  • Review customer specifications and data sheets for compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering and isolation team to resolve technical questions.
  • Support actuator, accessory, and automation configurations when applicable.
 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with:
  • Outside Sales
  • Operations & Supply Chain
  • Customer Service
  • Participate in product training and continuous improvement initiatives.
 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in chemical, mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering or a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar field
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and customer specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in selling and/or having technical and product support of isolation valve products such as butterfly, ball, or knife gate valves
  • Familiarity with industrial markets including Power, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining
  • Exposure to automation packages (actuators, controls, accessories)
  • Basic understanding of valve standards (ASME, API, ISO, NSF, etc.)
  • Experience with valves, flow control, automation, or related engineered products preferred.
