MES Engineer

  • Install, configure and maintain Syncade Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Install and configure data collection systems, databases and historians to collect and organize manufacturing data
  • Develop and deploy manufacturing intelligence tools to evaluate information captured by MES, process historians and other data collections systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain interfaces between MES systems, Automation systems, process historians, databases, and ERP systems
  • Perform work within budget and schedule parameters and provide appropriate feedback to project manager for workload, schedule, and cost management
  • Work with customer to establish system design details
  • Perform work within applicable standards, guidelines, and procedures
  • Perform and/or facilitate on-site startup and training activities
  • Provide proactive input and solutions to the engineering organization for continuous improvement of the organization


  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology, or related technical field
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a combination of process controls, automation, software product development or information systems management in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or other life science industries


  • Ability to configure manufacturing execution systems, manufacturing intelligence tools, process control system historians and interfaces between these systems and enterprise resource planning systems
  • Computer programming and debugging skills with specific emphasis on Visual Basic or VB Script, C#, SQL, Java, HTML Style Sheets, Reporting Tools, and Webservices
  • Knowledgeable on validation requirements for computer systems in cGMP environments
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing workflow practices in the life science industry

  • Individuals applying for this position will undergo a psychological interview and drug test. Recurring drug tests may be required based on customer requirements.
  • This position reports to a Project Manager
  • This position is located in Indianapolis, IN
  • Some work may require travel within a 4-state area (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio).
