Customer is building a new state of the art Research and Development facility to discover new drugs. Their existing R&D facility is out of date and will be decommissioned.

Project Summary

This project included providing automation services and products to automate Biotech process control equipment and the associated utilities that support the processes. This equipment included:

Media Prep
Bioreactors
Mueller Fermentor Skids
Purified Water
Glycol
Chilled Water
Biowaste
Monitoring of other utilities and lab equipment

Cornerstone Controls was responsible for the following areas:

Project Management
Automation Consulting to define system architecture, validation approach and software development methodology.
DeltaV Hardware Design Review and Procurement
DeltaV Configuration
Functional Requirement Development
Process Application Software Design, Development and Testing
Installation and Commissioning Support
- DeltaV platform installation and qualification
- Software debug
Instrument Engineering
The DeltaV system was comprised of 3000 I/O points, 12 process cells, 19 operator workstations and 15 controllers. The control system included Foundation Fieldbus, Device Net and OPC technologies.
